The new Trailmate fixed blade knife by Lone Wolf Knives was designed by custom knife maker Steve Kelley. The Trailmate has a 3.5 inch long blade built from 154CM premium high carbon stainless steel. Overall length is 7.50 inches. The handle on this custom version of the Trailmate was done by noted custom knife maker David Yellowhorse. The orange spiny oyster and jet stone are accented with hand made stainless steel inserts depicting running buffalo and a chief with buffalo headdress. Between these materials and the blade steel is a custom liner of aircraft grade aluminum. David adds the detailed custom file work to the top of the blade and in the finger gripping area on the bottom of the handle. The overall look of his custom embellishments to this handle make this knife a work-of-art in knife form. The handle shape has two deep finger groves to enhance the grip/control of the blade under slippery conditions. The top edge of the blade also has thumb-notching just forward of the handles to also enhance the grip when putting downward pressure on the blade with your thumb. We heat treat, temper and cryogenically freeze each blade to maximize the properties of this exotic stainless steel. The beautiful custom version of the Trailmate comes with a high quality display box to protect this fine collectible knife. Proudly made in USA.
